Morecambe Bay PianoMeetups: the project
Morecambe Bay PianoMeetups brings together people who love piano across Morecambe, Lancaster and the surrounding coast. It is a friendly, non-profit community where adults can learn, play, listen and meet others through music.
Why we exist
Learning piano as an adult can be rewarding but solitary. Our meetups give people a place to share a piece they are working on, overcome nerves in a supportive room, hear different repertoire and enjoy company around the instrument.
Music and community
Each gathering has two equally important parts: live piano and time to talk afterwards. You are welcome whether you are an experienced player, returning to piano, beginning your musical journey or simply keen to listen.
Non-profit and volunteer-led
The group is run by volunteers. Any small contribution requested for a meeting helps cover practical venue and refreshment costs; no organiser is paid for their work.
A considerate space
We value encouragement, thoughtful listening and kindness. This is not a competition, a singles event or a teaching class. It is a place to enjoy piano and build a healthy local musical community.
