What are Morecambe Bay PianoMeetups like?
A PianoMeetup is an afternoon to experience piano closely: listen, play if you would like to, and share the experience afterwards. You do not need to be a professional or even perform a piece to come.
Arrival and music
We begin with a relaxed welcome, time to find your place and meet the group. Then amateur players of different levels share short performances: classical music, film music, jazz, pop, original work and more.
Do I have to play?
No. Many people come to listen. If you would like to play, check the event listing for the current format, available time and how to request a performance place.
Sharing, not competing
There is no audition, fixed style or minimum standard. Every player contributes something valuable and the audience is an essential part of the experience.
The social part
After the performances, there is time for refreshments and conversation. It is a chance to discuss music, exchange ideas and get to know fellow attendees.
