Rules for attendees

Social assistance

The social part of the events is the culmination of the event: Although members can freely attend any of the parties,only concert attendees can attend the social. If you appreciate the social and you appreciate what we do in the association, we are convinced that you appreciate what happens in the auditorium. Also, keep in mind thatattending the first part is the way to sustain the project.

Avoid monopolizing the social

We want to prevent a single person from monopolizing the piano and/or microphone. We ask you to give up your place after two pieces in a row. That way more people can play and we make the event more varied and diverse.

Turn off or silence your cell phone

If you need to answer the call, both the performer and the rest of the attendees will appreciate it if you wait until the piece is over before leaving.

Silence to listen to the interpreters

After each performance and, above all, at the end of the event, there is a period of time to comment as much as you want. During the performance of a piece is NOT the time. Nerves play tricks on us and we are not going to do as well as when we are alone at home, distractions don’t help.

They are not meetings to give/receive classes

We prefer that recommendations and advice on how to play better are not given or asked for. Both those requested and those offered voluntarily, in any case, can be done during the subsequent social part.

Under no circumstances should negative reviews be made.about the interpreters. We look for a good and healthy environment, you must keep in mind that those of us who make all this work do it voluntarily. If there is any type of uncomfortable situation, please discuss it with the event organizer and allow him/her to manage it.

It is not a group ofsingles

The objective of the events is to meet music lovers, share the experience of playing the piano for other people and enjoy the piano in company. It is not a group of meetings betweensingleswhere the objective is to find a partner.

There is no talk of politics or religion

Music unites, we ask that you avoid topics that foster discord, as there are enough topics of debate and conversation without having to resort to politics or religion.

Standards for interpreters

If you have decided to share your music, we would like you to keep the following in mind. But keep in mind that the level, gender or style are not relevant.

• Limit total time to six (6) minutes: Including presentation, seat placement, etc… If you overdo it, you cause another person to lose their chance to play.If you exceed your time, at the next event you attend as an interpreter you will be at the end of it.Yes, it occurs repeatedly, you will sit on the bench for the next three events you attend.
• bell standard: If you hear the end of time bell, you have ten (10) seconds to close the piece. If you hear the bell again, you should leave it as is and assume that you will be at the end of the next event you ring.
• Don’t “fill” the time: PianoMeetupsIt is a wonderful occasion to share your music and your work. However, you don’t need to fill six minutes, it is better to play a single piece and give the opportunity for others to play than, try to fill the available time. This also goes for the repetitions, they are not necessary.
• If you don’t get it at home, you won’t get it out to the public.: It’s never going to turn out as well as it does at home, we assume that, but if it doesn’t work out at home, it’s better to wait until you have it more solid, or play the part that does.Don’t come read. Important!It has nothing to do with the level of the piece.
• You must make at least one mistake when playing: The project is created around the idea that music must be human, we hope thatat leastmake a mistake (there is no limit to how many mistakes there are).
• Don’t just come to play: We seek to create a community around music. If your only objective is to play and you don’t consider coming any other way,this is not your project.

INTERPRETATION GUARANTEE

The spirit of the project is to share the music and not to promote oneself or serve as a channel to find an audience: Assume that there will be events in which you cannot play.

We cannot guarantee a 100% interpreter slot. We understand that all of us who prepare pieces are excited to be heard, and we will always try to give priority according to the order of registration. However, if we detect people with repeated behaviors such as “I only go if I play” or “I only attend when I have pieces to perform” they will be invited to leave the project.

Reasons for expulsion

Madrid PianoMeetupsIt is a unique project that we promote with great enthusiasm, affection and desire. The organizers try to ensure that the atmosphere is as welcoming as possible. However, we understand that not everyone fits into this group.

The following are considered grounds for expulsion from the group:

• Make negative or hurtful criticism and commentsabout other participants or interpretations.
• Recruit students
• Foster discord
• Behave as in a groupsingles
• Reserve a place twice and not attend (without warning)
• Counterschedule events: It is not allowed to propose events that coincide with PianoMeetups.
