What are the events like?
We want to create a unique experience around the piano, we brought together a group of piano lovers to play, each with their own level. You can find out more in «What are the events like?«
Is it necessary to know how to play to attend?
No. We welcome all piano lovers, who knows if after an event you decide to start playing…
I have a very low level. Can I play?
Yes. Whenever you want and there is room, you can play. The events are characterized by absolute respect for those who overcome the fear of performing in front of others. Nobody is going to correct you or interrupt you. However, we do ask that you bring the worked piece.
You said, Is there room?
It depends on the capacity of the event. There are 18 insuredslotsor places, although it usually gives time to more pianists. If you book your ticket on the 39th, chances are you won’t have that opportunity… But you can always book earlier for the next one 😉
I’m not very sure I want to play. When do I have to decide?
You can wait for the event itself. If you jump in at the last minute, one of the organizers will give you their time without any problem. If, on the other hand, you regret it at the last moment, a pianist will replace you. We don’t force anyone. It’s about enjoying…
Can I bring my sheet music?
Of course. It is highly recommended, especially for those of us who do not have much experience. It’s about having a pleasant experience (despite the nerves)
How much do events cost?
It depends a little on the number of attendees and the time we have at the piano. Normally the price is around €10, although discounts are available for early booking. We appreciate that you bring the exact amount to facilitate payment.
But the events are free, why do you charge?
We don’t really “get paid.” Madrid PianoMeetups has a maintenance cost of about €2000 per year. What we do is divide the one-time expenses, such as the cost of renting the room, and the prorated ones among the attendees.
None of the organizers or volunteers charge for our work at Madrid PianoMeetups.

How do I become a volunteer/collaborator?
The first thing is by actively participating in the Madrid PianoMeetups. Tell the organizer your interest, we seek and need all possible help to publicize our events and reach the maximum number of pianists possible.
I am a piano teacher. Can I attend?
Yes. Everyone can attend and play if you want, you will be just another pianist. Note that the eventsThey are not classes nor are lessons taught.. You can find out more in «What are the events like?» and in thestandardsofcoexistence.
Can I sing while playing, or accompany myself with another instrument?
No. These are events in which the piano must shine; when performing a vocal performance or including another instrument, the piano remains in the background. There are many groups on meetup.com where they focus on singing or playing in a group.
